Other than the pandering to your ego and people just being too lazy to give you advice, my honest opinion would say that Spirit Denizen sounds better. It is like Shakugan no Shana translations. Spirit People sounds weird and not to mention translating it as Ghost people. I have seen people translate it like that when they are clearly not ghosts. When truly in doubt, use romanji and just be done with it.
